What is happening?
The day is built around meeting, making and sharing. Expect a relaxed mix of:
- Live music and performances
- Creative workshops
- Local food
- Community and craft stalls
- Activities led by Southwark residents, artists and groups
This is a community event rather than a large commercial festival. That is part of its appeal. You can discover small local projects and spend time in the park without needing an expensive ticket.
Getting to Burgess Park
The event is beside the cafe in Chumleigh Gardens. Burgess Park is large, so use the event map before setting off rather than relying only on the park name.
Elephant and Castle, Camberwell and Peckham are connected to the park by several bus routes. Cycling or walking can also be convenient if you live nearby.
Keep the day cheap
Entry is free, but food and goods from traders may cost extra. Bring water, sun protection and a picnic if you want complete control over spending. A light waterproof is useful if the weather looks uncertain.
