Brick Rewards is a free app that gives UK renters points for rent payments and spending with participating businesses. New users can enter referral code UKMPO7G7 to receive 750 bonus points.
The app also includes an optional rent-reporting feature. It can identify eligible rent payments through a connected bank account and report them to Experian, helping tenants build a visible history of paying rent on time.
Referral disclosure: we may also receive 750 points when a qualifying new user joins. Your allocation is not reduced.

How Brick Rewards works
Brick connects to the bank account from which you pay rent. The connection allows it to recognise an eligible payment automatically. You keep sending rent to the landlord or letting agent in the usual way—Brick does not collect or forward it.
You can then earn points from rent and selected everyday spending. Brick’s Google Play listing says its partner map covers categories including food, fitness, entertainment and beauty. Available partners and offers will naturally be more useful to some Londoners than others.
What can you get with Brick points?
The current app promotes rewards such as:
- discounted coffee and food
- restaurant and local-business offers
- fitness and gym deals
- gift cards and experiences
- giveaways and monthly promotions
The catalogue is not fixed. Check the location, expiry date, minimum spend and point cost before travelling specifically to use an offer.
Brick has also promoted a monthly draw in which one user can have up to £1,000 of rent paid. Treat this as a competition rather than part of the normal points return: entering does not guarantee a prize and the live rules apply.
Can Brick rent reporting improve your credit score?
It can help, but the accurate answer is not immediately and not for everyone.
Inside Brick, the Rent Reporting resource says it can securely read rent payments from your connected bank and report on-time payments to Experian. Experian confirms that reported rent is added to its credit report and included in its current credit-score calculation.
This may be especially useful for someone new to London or the UK who has a limited UK credit history. It creates a record of a large bill you already pay instead of requiring you to borrow money merely to demonstrate repayment behaviour.
What to understand before switching it on
- It takes time. Experian says rent-reporting providers generally need six months of payment information, or a valid tenancy agreement, before reporting begins. Past payments cannot simply be backdated.
- Paying on time matters. Reported on-time rent can improve an Experian score; reported late payments can reduce it.
- It is Experian-specific. Equifax and TransUnion use their own reports and scores, while every lender has its own affordability and lending criteria.
- A higher score is not an approval guarantee. Lenders decide which information to use and may still decline an application.
- The bank account matters. Experian says the payment normally needs to come from an account in the tenant’s name and go directly to the landlord or agent.
- Check the record. Once reporting is active, inspect your Experian report and challenge any incorrect rent information promptly.
Does your landlord need to approve it?
Experian says tenants can self-report through a Rental Exchange partner without their landlord’s permission. Brick’s in-app process should explain its own eligibility and consent requirements before you continue.
Is connecting a bank account safe?
Brick says it uses Open Banking to verify rent and partner spending. That does not give the app permission to move money, but it does mean sharing access to selected account data. Read the requested permissions, use the official app and disconnect the account if you stop using the service.
Brick Rewards or Ribbon Rewards?
The services take different approaches:
| Brick Rewards | Ribbon Rewards | |
|---|---|---|
| How rent is handled | You pay the landlord as usual; Brick recognises the payment | You send rent through a dedicated account that forwards it |
| Main appeal | Local perks, points and optional Experian reporting | Gift-card rewards worth around 1% of qualifying rent |
| Landlord change needed | No | No, although the payment route changes |
| Introductory offer | 750 points with UKMPO7G7 |
£25 in points after a qualifying first payment |
If a predictable reward value is your priority, read our full Ribbon Rewards rent cashback guide. If you prefer not to reroute rent and value the Experian feature, Brick may be the simpler fit. You can investigate both, but avoid giving two services unnecessary access to the same bank data unless you genuinely use them.
Is Brick Rewards worth using?
For a London tenant who pays rent directly from their own bank account, the standard app is easy to understand: keep paying normally and collect something extra. The 750-point code is a useful start, but the long-term value depends on whether the live rewards are near you and genuinely replace spending you would otherwise make.
Pros
- Free app with a 750-point new-user bonus.
- No need to change the landlord, tenancy or rent recipient.
- Rewards designed around London food, fitness and local businesses.
- Optional Experian reporting can help build a visible rent history.
- No need to take on debt simply to report a regular payment.
Cons
- Points have no simple fixed cash value.
- Partners, offers and redemption costs can change.
- Open Banking access is needed for automatic verification.
- Late reported rent can damage an Experian score.
- The credit feature does not guarantee access to borrowing.
Our view: Brick is worth trying if its current rewards suit your routine. Rent reporting is potentially more valuable than a few free coffees, particularly for someone establishing a UK credit file, but only opt in when you understand the data access and are confident the payment details are correct.
Brick Rewards questions
What is the Brick Rewards referral code?
Enter UKMPO7G7 as a new user. The offer checked on 11 August 2026 gives the new user and referrer 750 points each.
Is 750 Brick points the same as £7.50?
Do not assume a cash conversion. Brick points are exchanged through a changing reward catalogue, so judge the bonus by the redemption available in your account.
Does Brick pay my landlord?
No. Brick’s standard rewards model recognises the rent leaving your connected bank account. You continue paying the landlord or managing agent as usual.
Will rent reporting definitely raise my score?
No. On-time rent reported to Experian can help its score, but results vary and lenders use their own criteria. Incorrect or late reported payments may have the opposite effect.
How quickly will reported rent appear?
Experian says providers generally need six months of payment history, or a valid tenancy agreement, before reporting. Once submitted, payments normally appear on the report within several weeks.
Can I use Brick if a flatmate pays the landlord?
You may be able to use other parts of the app, but rent recognition and reporting can be difficult if your payment goes to a flatmate rather than directly to the landlord or agent. Check with Brick before enabling the feature.
Is Brick available on Android?
Yes. Brick Rewards has official listings on both Google Play and Apple’s App Store.
