How to find your borough newsletter

Get useful local updates

  1. Confirm your council.

    Use the GOV.UK postcode search rather than guessing from the nearest town or station.

  2. Use the council’s own search.

    Look for resident newsletters, events, libraries, parks, families and culture.

  3. Choose only useful topics.

    Some councils let you select events, road updates, consultations or neighbourhood news separately.

  4. Confirm the subscription.

    Open the verification email so the council is allowed to send updates.

  5. Create an email rule.

    Move council messages into a London ideas folder so they do not disappear inside a busy inbox.

Your council’s main resident email will not contain every library, museum or leisure-centre event. Follow the pages for the two or three venues you actually use.

Neighbouring boroughs

London life crosses council boundaries. If you live near an edge, subscribe to the neighbouring borough or follow its events page too. You do not need to receive every general council update.

Check before attending

Council activities can have eligibility or booking rules. A free event may be limited to borough residents, children of a particular age or people registered with a library or service.
