What cookies are
Cookies are small files stored in your browser when you visit a website. Similar technology, such as local storage, can remember a setting on your device. Some are needed for a service to work, while others are optional.
Essential preference storage
We use your browser’s local storage to remember whether you accepted or rejected analytics. The item is called lfc_cookie_consent. It does not track which pages you visit and is necessary to remember your choice.
If you answer our optional “Make London for Cheap more useful” question, we also store your choice — visiting London, living in London or just browsing — in lfc_audience_preference_v1 for about 90 days. We use it only in your browser to choose more relevant site links and promotions. It is not sent to our analytics service. You can dismiss the question without choosing an audience and change the setting from the footer.
Event form security
Our event submission page uses the Google reCAPTCHA v2 checkbox to identify automated spam. It runs when you use that form and may process device, network and interaction information or store security cookies. This protection is necessary to keep the public form working safely and is separate from optional Google Analytics. Read Google’s privacy policy and terms.
Optional Google Analytics cookies
If you accept, we load Google Analytics using measurement ID G-FWJHV786VL. It helps us understand visits, popular pages and useful actions such as using a tool, creating a result, sharing a page, submitting the newsletter form or opening an offer. Analytics is optional and does not load before you accept it. Advertising storage and personalised advertising signals are disabled.
| Cookie | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes one browser from another. | Up to 2 years |
_ga_* | Maintains the current Analytics session. | Up to 2 years |
Google may process information such as the visited page, approximate location derived from an IP address, device details and interactions with the website. We do not send typed searches, form answers, email addresses or full referral-link query strings as analytics event details. Read Google’s privacy policy for more information.
Change your choice
Select at any time to accept or reject analytics. Rejecting disables Analytics and attempts to remove its first-party cookies from this website. You can also clear cookies through your browser settings. Rejecting optional analytics does not stop you from using the website.
Select to review or change the locally stored content choice.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if we add another service that uses cookies or similar tracking technology.
