Crafty Fox Market is bringing a one-day Sample & Seconds Sale to the National Theatre. More than 40 independent makers will sell reduced-price samples, seconds and one-off pieces in the theatre’s entrance foyer on Sunday 16 August.

What will be on sale?

The trader list covers ceramics, jewellery, textiles, art, cards, candles and homeware. Sellers include established Crafty Fox members and 11 newer makers taking part in its supported Step Up programme.

“Seconds” usually means an item has a small cosmetic imperfection but remains usable. Check each piece before buying and ask the maker what makes it a second; discount levels and return arrangements can differ between stalls.

Workshops

Roz from art duo Tipperleyhill is running two creative sessions during the day, centred on making a framed mandala. The organiser does not present these as part of the free general admission, so check the official booking page for times, availability and any charge before relying on a place.

Getting there

The National Theatre is on the South Bank between Waterloo Bridge and the riverside. Waterloo is the most useful main station; follow signs towards the South Bank or National Theatre. Embankment and Blackfriars are alternatives on the other side of the Thames, followed by a bridge crossing.

Because the sale is inside the entrance foyer, it is also a practical wet-weather option. The National Theatre publishes dedicated access and visitor information if you need a step-free route or other assistance.
