1. Get a £3 Cineworld ticket with Three+

Eligible Three customers can claim one £3 adult Cineworld ticket each week through the Three+ rewards app. It is valid for a standard 2D seat from Friday to Sunday. The current online booking fee is 95p, and premium formats or seats cost extra.

2. Pay £4 at BFI Southbank if you are 25 or under

BFI’s free 25 and Under scheme gives people aged 16 to 25 access to £4 tickets for regular screenings at BFI Southbank when booked in advance.

Special events and previews are generally available at the discounted rate only on the day, subject to availability. You need a free BFI account and must verify your age.

3. Get two ODEON tickets for £10 with Amazon Prime

Amazon Prime members can claim two Classic 2D ODEON tickets for £10, or two eligible ODEON Luxe recliner tickets for £15, once each month.

The offer is for Monday to Thursday screenings and must be redeemed through the ODEON website or app. The package price includes ODEON’s online booking fees. IMAX, Dolby, iSense, 3D and premium seats may require an upgrade payment.

ODEON Luxe Leicester Square and ODEON Luxe & Dine Islington are excluded. Event Cinema, Screen Unseen, Scream Unseen, premieres and special events are also excluded.

People regularly sell unused ODEON, Vue, Cineworld and other cinema codes on eBay. Prices vary, but this can be an easy way to get a cheaper ticket without holding the membership or subscription that originally supplied the voucher.

There is no membership to calculate and the same base ticket price applies all day. If Peckham is convenient, compare the travel cost and screening time with voucher deals at a cinema farther away.

7. Try Barbican Magic Monday and family tickets

Barbican Cinema currently lists Magic Monday tickets for £7. It also offers under-18 tickets for £6 and selected Family Film Club screenings from £2.50.

Young Barbican is free for eligible 16 to 29-year-olds and can unlock discounted tickets for selected cinema and cultural events. Check the individual performance because not every screening uses the same offer.

8. Join the Prince Charles Cinema if you go regularly

The Prince Charles Cinema near Leicester Square is known for classic films, cult favourites, marathons and unusual double bills as well as selected new releases.

Annual membership currently costs £15 and provides at least £2.50 off one ticket per screening, £8 weekday matinees, selected £1 screenings and 15% off drinks and snacks. A £20 annual +1 membership allows two discounted tickets per performance.

Membership makes most sense if you expect to visit several times. A non-member buying a single weekday matinee may find another London cinema cheaper.

9. Claim free Vue tickets with Sky Cinema

Sky Cinema customers can currently claim two standard Vue tickets each calendar month through the MySky app. The tickets are valid from Sunday to Thursday at participating Vue cinemas in the UK and Ireland.

Treat this as an included benefit if you already subscribe. Joining Sky Cinema solely for two tickets is unlikely to be the cheapest option.

Cinema prices vary by venue, time, seat and film. Before applying a promotion, look for:

  • Weekday matinees

  • Under-18, student, senior or local-resident rates
  • Membership prices if you visit frequently
