Car boot, flea market or antiques market?

    • Car boot sales are people selling their own stuff from their cars or a table: clothes, toys, kitchenware, books and the occasional gem. They're the cheapest of the lot, often a pound or two to get in, and best early in the morning.

    • Flea markets, vintage markets and vintage fairs are regular traders selling vintage clothes, furniture, homeware and records. Prices are higher than a car boot, but someone has already done the digging for you.

    • Vintage stores like Brick Lane Vintage Market, Rokit and Beyond Retro are open every day, so they're the answer on a quiet Tuesday. Expect shop prices rather than car boot bargains, but huge choice.

    • Antiques markets and record fairs are dealers who know what things are worth. Come for silver, ceramics, prints and rare vinyl, and expect to haggle politely rather than find a steal.

    How to bag a bargain

    1. Decide if early entry is worth it. Paying £5 to get in at 7am makes sense if you're after furniture or something specific. For a browse, normal entry later on is cheaper and calmer.
    2. Bring cash, in small notes. More sellers take cards than they used to, but plenty still don't, and it's easier to haggle with exact money.
    3. Go late for the best prices. In the last hour, sellers would often rather take an offer than load it back into the car.
    4. Bring bags, and check before you carry. Look over electricals, zips and furniture joints before you pay. Nobody gives refunds at a car boot.
    5. Check the weather and the season. Outdoor car boots can be called off in heavy rain and many pause for winter. Each card says when a market is seasonal.

    How we check this list

As of October 2026, this page lists 41 places across London: 13 car boot sales, 10 flea and vintage markets, 7 antiques markets, 7 vintage stores, 2 vintage fairs and 2 record fairs.

We list places that run regularly and have confirmed their days and times on their own website or social pages, and we note when we last checked. One-off sales and fairs go in the Coming up list above instead. Car boots change a lot with the seasons, so if something's wrong, use Report a change on the market or email us.

These figures come from London for Cheap's own directory of London car boot sales, flea, vintage and antiques markets, record fairs and big vintage stores. We research each place by hand and only include it once its days and times are confirmed on its own website or social pages.

They count places in our directory, not every second-hand market in London: school, church and pop-up sales come and go too quickly to list. One-off sales in the Coming up list are not included.

Every listing was last checked between 13 October 2026 and 14 October 2026. The figures update automatically when we add, change or remove a listing. A market that trades on several days counts once in the total and once for each day.

London car boots, flea and vintage markets FAQ

Where are the best car boot sales in London?

The biggest regular ones on this page include Princess May in Dalston (every weekend), Capital Car Boot in Pimlico (Sundays), Chiswick (first Sunday of the month) and Hounslow Heath. Pick a day at the top of the page to see which are on.

Are there car boot sales in London on a Saturday?

Yes. 4 of the car boots here run on Saturdays, including Princess May and St Augustine's in Kilburn. Pick Sat in the day filter to see them.

How much does it cost to get into a car boot sale?

Usually between free and £2 for normal entry. Many charge more for early entry, often £5 to £7, to get first pick before the main crowd. Each card shows the entry price we found.

What time should I get to a car boot sale?

Early for the best finds, late for the best prices. Dealers arrive at early-bird time, and sellers are more open to offers in the last hour because they don't want to pack it all up again.

Where can I go for vintage and second-hand during the week?

Brick Lane Vintage Market (over 100 traders) and the big vintage stores, Rokit and Beyond Retro, are open every day. For markets, try Bermondsey Antiques Market on Friday mornings, Old Spitalfields' antiques on Thursdays, Camden Passage from Wednesday and Alfies Antique Market from Tuesday to Saturday.

Do car boot sales run in winter?

Some do, many do not. Outdoor car boots often run from spring to autumn and pause for winter, and each card says when a market is seasonal. Indoor flea markets and school car boots with indoor halls usually run all year.

Where are the best vintage markets in London?

For vintage clothes and homeware, try Brick Lane Vintage Market (every day), Portobello Green under the Westway (Friday to Sunday), Flea London at Hackney Bridge and Brick Lane Tea Rooms (weekends), and the Hackney and Big Kensington flea markets on their market days. Filter by Flea market and Clothes to see them.

Can I suggest a market or report a change?

Yes, please. Use Report a change on any market, or email us. We check every update before it goes live.
