The volunteer-run Streatham Free Film Festival brings free screenings to cinemas, pubs and outdoor spaces across the neighbourhood from 1 to 20 September.

What is showing?

The programme mixes cult films, family screenings, outdoor cinema and community events. Early highlights include a film quiz on 1 September, Jurassic Park outdoors on 5 September, The Secret Agent on 8 September, a short-film night on 9 September and Crazy, Stupid, Love outdoors on 10 September.

This is not one continuous event. Every screening has its own venue, start time and access information.

Before you go

Open the individual film page before travelling. For outdoor cinema, bring a layer and something suitable to sit on, and check the weather update. Free does not always mean unticketed: reserve when the listing asks you to.

Are all screenings free?
The festival is a free film festival. Some venues may sell food and drinks, but you do not need to buy them to attend unless an individual listing clearly says otherwise.
Should I book?
It varies. Follow the instructions on the individual screening page; capacity can be limited even where no advance ticket is offered.
Is the whole festival outdoors?
No. It uses a mixture of indoor community venues and outdoor spaces.
